About EVAC's Training Center

Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc. (EVAC) has been an American Heart Association Training Center since early 2000 and American Red Cross Training Provider since 2017. This AHA/ARC Training Center maintains an Emergency Cardiac Care Training Network for instructors of all ECC disciplines (Heartsaver, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)).

EVAC currently has over 100 active men and women of all ages who provide around the clock support to the Town of Eastchester, and Villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe. Today, our commitment to service endures as we respond to over 2,500 medical emergency calls every year, making us one of the busiest volunteer ambulance agencies in Westchester County.

Our Mission

The mission of EVAC's Training Center is to develop training to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare, improve education, reduce medical error to improve patient safety, allow for multidisciplinary research, provide an environment for healthcare development and set a standard for national education, training, and certification.

The American Heart Association’s mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke. EVAC’s TC proudly supports the AHA’s mission and takes certain steps toward achieving that goal, which include 1) improving the chain of survival and knowledge of acute care treatment, 2) enhancing prevention and disease management through classroom education, and 3) implement the resources to achieve the goal by increasing the number of instructors, providers, revenue, partnerships, training materials, and programs.

Our Training Site

EVAC's Training Center currently manages and operates one (1) Basic Life Support (BLS) training extension site (TS) at the Village of Pelham Fire Department (PFD), located at 219 Fifth Ave, Pelham, NY 10803. With a base staff of over 10 instructors, this training site serves to expand the mission of EVAC's training center to the Village of Pelham community.

Our Courses

Here at EVAC, we offer: Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) classes for both healthcare professionals who need AHA certified training and other members of the community who would like to learn CPR, AED, choking rescue and basic first aid. Classes are traditionally held at EVAC's headquarters but can also be arranged for offsite.
